Nomination Form
The Raymond Van Houtte Teacher Award was established by Tompkins to honor the late Raymond Van Houtte, former Trust Company President and Chief Executive Officer.
On November 14, 1989, the Tompkins Board of Directors approved a $25,000 endowment to the Tompkins County Foundation - now known as the Legacy Foundation. The Legacy Foundation is a not-for-profit trust, created in 1945 by a group of local Tompkins County residents to establish a means by which they and others could express their love for their community and their gratitude for some of the goodness of life that blessed their lives in Tompkins County. Earnings on the endowment are used to fund awards supporting primary and secondary education in Tompkins County.
Recognition will be made to educator(s), support staff, or paraprofessional(s) who have shown exceptional ability, effort and quantifiable results in improving primary and secondary education in Tompkins County. Specific information about the educator's accomplishments is appreciated.
